5 Reasons Our Employees Love Their Jobs

5 Reasons Our Employees Love Their Jobs

So, I decided to ask a bunch of our employees to share why they love working at Knobelsdorff Electric. And there were a few things that came up more than once. Here’s a little bit of what they had to say.

1. You’re Part of a Team

5 Reasons Our Employees Love Their Jobs“It’s a great team. Everybody here is willing to work with you and help you. They value good work ethic, and they want you to learn and grow.” – Journeyman Electrician

“The positive work environment.” – Journeyman Electrician

“It’s nothing like a standard, structural business where you just do one thing and you have to do it perfect. When everyone is working towards the same goal, it definitely motivates you… It changes your level of commitment. It’s more rewarding here.” -Electrical AutoCAD Designer

“Between the type of work that I do and the individuals I work with, I can say I love my job. I absolutely love what I do, and I love who I work with.” – Journeyman Electrician

“If you make a mistake, nobody runs you down.” – Journeyman Electrician

2. You Can Work Your Way Up

“I started at Knobelsdorff right out of electrician school. Started as an apprentice, became a journeyman, and then a foreman. I’ve been with the company 15 years, and I’m a project manager.” – Electrical Project Manager

3. There’s Low Turnover

“I have never worked with a group that’s like KEI. The electricians are outstanding, and everyone is down to earth. When new hires come on, they fit in well, and they stay for a long time. There’s not a lot of turnover here, just growth.” – Journeyman Electrician

“The opportunity to be laid off does not exist here. KEI has plenty of work available, in all aspects. There’s so much these guys do - you don’t have to get stuck in a position.” – Journeyman Electrician

“You get a large variety of work. If you’re sick of doing one type of job, there’s something else we can get you on. There’s no shortage of work. In my 20 years here, I haven’t seen one person laid off.” – Electrical Project Manager

4. You Get a Great Boss

“The project managers are easy to work with, and Karl is the best boss I’ve ever had. The way he looks out for his employees, it takes the words right out of my mouth. It really is a lot like family.” – Journeyman Electrician

“There probably aren’t many bosses that’ll work as hard as Karl does to keep employees happy. He doesn’t just sit back and make decisions – he’ll dig in and work right alongside you.” – Electrical Project Manager

5. Your Skills Get Put to Use

“I had a lot of the necessary skills when I came to KEI, but having the opportunity to hone them, that’s a whole new level. I communicate with customers, and I sell myself and the company. I’ve sharpened by control panel building skills. At KEI, you have the opportunity to do it all and become a well-rounded electrician.” – Journeyman Electrician

"Knobelsdorff provides the hands-on experience I didn't get in college. Instead of working in a cubicle 40 hours a week, I'm strengthening my skills in the field." -Electrical AutoCAD Designer
